What is a superbill?
A superbill is an itemized receipt containing provider information, dates of service, diagnosis and procedure codes, charges, and proof of payment. Grindstone can provide one for you to submit directly to a commercial insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Grindstone does not bill commercial insurance directly. Every plan differs: some offer no out-of-network benefits, while others may reimburse part of an insurer-determined allowed amount after an out-of-network deductible is met. Reimbursement is never guaranteed.
No referral is required to schedule care at Grindstone. However, your insurance plan may separately require a referral, authorization, or other documentation before it will reimburse an out-of-network claim.
